Burlington, Vt: The Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) invites nominations for Vermont’s 2023 Early Childhood Educator of the Year. Nominations are due by July 1 and may be made at vtaeyc.org/eceoy.
The prestigious annual award honors exceptional early childhood educators and spotlights the importance of high-quality early childhood education for Vermont’s children, families, and communities. Presented by VTAEYC and sponsored by Let’s Grow Kids, the 2023 award comes with a $2,500 cash prize and all expenses paid to a national conference.
To be eligible, nominees must:
- Work in a regulated early childhood education program based in a home, center, or school
- Educate children ages 0-8
- Have at least three years of experience as an early childhood educator
Employees of VTAEYC and Let’s Grow Kids, as well as previous winners, are ineligible to win.
“Many of us know one or more early childhood educators whose love of kids and zest for early learning has had an outsized impact on our children, our families and our communities,” said VTAEYC Executive Director Sharron Harrington. “We have incredible talent and commitment in our workforce, and we encourage families, friends, colleagues, and community members to nominate that special person for this prestigious professional award.”
The Early Childhood Educator of the Year award will be presented at VTAEYC’s Annual Conference, held this year in Stowe on November 6 and 7.
VTAEYC presents five additional annual awards to early childhood educators and advocates: Early Childhood Education Student of the Year, Children’s Champion, Distinguished Service, Emerging Leader, and Outstanding Member. More information is at vtaeyc.org/annual-awards.
