VTAEYC announces national search for executive director

On behalf of the Search Committee of the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children, we are announcing a national search for a full-time Executive Director to lead this organization’s critical work in early childhood education.  

As you may know, VTAEYC is working toward the Audacious Vision laid out in the Unifying Framework for the Early Childhood Education Profession: that each and every child beginning at birth has access to high-quality early childhood education delivered by an effective, diverse, well-prepared, and well compensated workforce. Our work advances equity and excellence in early childhood education by supporting early childhood education professionals, with initiatives that include Advancing as a Profession, T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® scholarship program, Vermont’s Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programs,  VTAEYC’s Annual ECE Conference, and most recently, the VTAEYC Exchange, Education Gap Grant for Early Childhood Educators, and the Student Loan Repayment Assistance Program.

Under the leadership of our previous Executive Director, Janet McLaughlin, who has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Children and Families, VTAEYC has made great strides in long term sustainability and maximizing the impact of our work in Vermont. The organization has increased organizational capacity, adding projects and resources that expand the reach and impact of this work. We have also focused on building a stronger and more diverse board, a wider portfolio of funding sources, and a deeper pool of staffing resources to build outreach and deepen relationships with the field.
